Dear Students of FIN 301 Section - 2,
A big congratulations to all of you on successfully completing almost all the tasks of this semester. I sincerely appreciate and acknowledge your hard work, endurance, and cooperation. Since we have almost come to the end of this course, I would like to inform you about the final exam.
Date of FIN 301 (Section 2) Final Exam: 26 September 2020 (Saturday)
Exam Window: 8:00 am to 11 am. (You can start the exam at any time between 8:00 am to 9:00 am at your convenience)
Exam Duration: 110 minutes
(If you start the exam at 8.00 am your exam will end at 9.00 and if you start the exam at the last moment 9:10 your exam will end at 11.00 am. In that way only 8:00 am to 11.00 am of September 26 will be dedicated for FIN 301 Section 2)
Question type: There will be a combination of quantitative and conceptual questions.
Marks: Total 30
Platform: buX
Final Exam Syllabus: The syllabus of the final was comprehensive including all the chapters we have covered till now. However, to reduce your pressure and study load, we have decided to shorten the syllabus for the final exam. For your convenience, only the following chapters will be included in the final exam syllabus.
1. Ratio Analysis
2. Time Value of Money
3. Bond Valuation
4. Stock Valuation
5. Risk and Return
6. Working Capital Management
Exam Pattern: In order to facilitate partial marking, we will take a handwritten exam. For the steps to be followed in the exam please check the exam answer submission video on buX.
- You must mention your name and ID at the top of each page of your handwritten answer. Like your answer, the name, and ID on each page must be handwritten. No marks will be provided if you fail to follow this instruction.
- You must rename your pdf file in the way shown in the video. If you fail to rename the file properly, we cannot separate your answer and hence you will not get any marks.
- Before submitting your answer, make sure your images are clear and visible. No excuses will be entertained if they are not visible.
Another good news to lift your spirit up:
We have decided to revise the existing grading criteria for the quiz. To reduce your stress in this tough time, we have decided to count the best one between the two as your final grade for the quiz.
Words of caution:
- Unlike a quiz, naturally, there will be no second chance to recover your marks if you have made errors. This time we will not accept any script through email unless a student provides sufficient evidence of any technical glitches or connectivity problem. You must join the google meet link (that will be provided by us before the exam) to screen share the problem being encountered immediately during the exam window and if we are convinced, only then you will be allowed to submit the script through email. If you fail to do so, we will not accept any script, which is the last thing we want. So, our recommendation will be you join google meet if you encounter any problem before the time of your exam ends.
· Since the exam window is narrow, I would recommend you to keep back-up internet support.
Students, throughout the semester I have tried our level best to ease the pressure and make this course a true learning opportunity. I hope my decision regarding the revision of the grading system for the quiz and the substantial reduction of the final exam syllabus will reduce some of your pressure and help you to concentrate on your studies. I hope now I can expect excellent performance from you in the final exam. I again thank you for your effort in this semester.
Best of luck!
